‘He looks drunk!’ Russia mocks Donald Trump as health fears mount | World | News

Donald Trump’s demeanour at the G7 has been mocked on Russian State TV as rumours continue to swirl about his health. Despite the president’s insistence that he “aced” a recent medical exam, which he said included top marks on a cognitive exam, speculation continues to surround the 79-year-old leader’s health.

Falls on the campaign trail, mysterious bruises, and his clumsy handling of paperwork when meeting Sir Keir Starmer last week have all contributed to accusations that the president is not functioning as well as he claims or as he once was. The speculation has not gone amiss in Russia, with acolytes of Vladimir Putin taking to state TV to mock his appearance and ineffectiveness in the White House, going as far as to suggest that Trump appeared drunk during the G7 summit. Political scientist Dmitry Drobnitsky said on “The Evening With Vladimir Solovyov,”: “Trump was flying from the G7, having escaped from there as though someone hit him with a sack full of dust.

“If I didn’t know his personal history that he never drank, I would totally think that he was plastered, he was groggy.”

The panel has become well known for defending the actions of Vladimir Putin and using alarmist and threatening language to refer to the country’s adversaries.

Despite an improvement in the relationship between the US and Russia since Trump came to power, with the two countries’ leaders having had several phone calls, Trump’s performance on the world stage was mocked by those on the panel.

Drobnitsky added: “Everyone knows that the United States no longer has the might that Bush Jr had in 2003.

“First of all, they have no financial or industrial might that they had 20 years ago – they just don’t have it.

“That is why he didn’t bring Greenland to the home port, Canada did not get closer to him, and China does not want to sell its ports.

“Trump failed in everything that he is doing. He succeeded only in deals done by his sons, daughter, relatives and businessmen with whom he is close, made in Saudi Arabia.

“Trump as though he was pounded with a dust sack says ‘I don’t even know what I will do tomorrow’.”

Earlier this month, Trump and Putin held a 75-minute phone call which included discussions on the war in Ukraine and Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Trump said following the conversation: “I just finished speaking, by telephone, with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia.

“The call lasted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. We discussed the attack on Russia’s docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides. It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace.

“President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields.”
