Tragic haunting photos show a diaper and white baby blanket on the ground outside a Bronx apartment building where a 5-month-old girl and her young mom plunged 15 stories Tuesday.
The horrific scene outside 2550 Olinville Ave. comes as the baby clings to life at Jacobi Hospital, where her 23-year-old mother died after the 3:38 a.m. incident, police and sources said.
Neighbors told police that the mom and baby may have been thrown from the balcony, and law-enforcement said cops have identified a potential person of interest in the incident, but no details were released.
“Please don’t do this!” a tenant told WABC News she heard a woman yelling before the resident saw something plummet to the ground.
Hours later, the baby’s diaper and blanket remained outside the building behind police tape, as cops continue to investigate.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
