Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend has shared candid photographs of herself in her new jewellery collection on social media.
Chelsy Davy, 39, dated the prince between 2004 and 2010 but has since gone on to create her own jewellery business.
For her latest collection, Chelsy – who is married to the father of her two children Sam Cutmore-Scott – spent some time modelling the items herself.
She took to Instagram with some of these photographs, with one showing her hair blowing around her face. She wrote: “Hats off to models…. this s*** is hard. Attempting to model the new Aya Essentials collection. Link in bio for better pics.”
While Chelsy is in the public eye when it comes to her business, she has also been able to retain some privacy, a privilege she may have lost had she taken her relationship with Prince Harry further.
According to reports, Chelsy was not willing to commit to royal life as she did not want to lose her privacy, with Prince Harry saying in his 2023 memoir Spare that she didn’t seem bothered by his prince title.
The duke, 40, wrote: “Unlike so many people I knew, she seemed wholly unconcerned with appearances, with propriety, with royalty. Unlike so many girls I met, she wasn’t visibly fitting herself for a crown the moment she shook my hand.
“She seemed immune to that common affliction sometimes called throne syndrome. I’d always wanted to know what it might be like to meet a woman and not have her eyes widen at the mention of my title but instead to widen them myself, using my mind, my heart.
“With Chelsy, that seemed a real possibility. Not only was she uninterested in my title, she seemed bored by it. ‘Oh, you’re a prince? Yawn.’”
The prince also said from the early days Chelsy struggled as paparazzi would follow her to and from her lectures at Leeds University.
Harry wrote: “Chels told me that paps had been following her to and from lectures—she asked me to do something about it. I told her I’d try. I told her how sorry I was. When she was back in Cape Town she phoned me and said people were tailing her everywhere and it was driving her crazy.”
The jewellery business owner has not spoken much about her relationship with the duke apart from confirming that at times the media intrusion was “scary”.
She attended the duke’s 2018 Windsor wedding to Meghan Markle.
