Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been issued a warning to “move on” and to stop “slagging off the Royal Family” if they want a shot at success.
Since dramatically quitting the Firm in 2020 and moving to the US the couple has not been shy in throwing various allegations against the Royal Family.
They pocketed a reported £75 million from Netflix for their shows, including the ‘Harry & Meghan’ docuseries which contained bombshell claims about the couple’s private life and the Firm.
During their Netflix series, the couple claimed that Meghan was not given any help when it came to learning the role of a royal.
Meghan claims she was left to figure out how to be a royal on her own, saying she had no instructions on how to dress, curtsy or adapt to her new life.
Whilst Harry indicated that his older brother married to fit a “royal mould” rather than for love when he said: “I think for so many people in the family, especially the men, there can be a temptation or an urge to marry someone who would fit the mould as opposed to somebody who perhaps you are destined to be with. The difference between making decisions with your head or heart.”
The Duke did not mention William and his wife Kate, Princess of Wales, by name but friends of both princes have assumed Harry was talking about his brother.
One told The Times: “That was so cheeky, that’s a love match if ever there was one. Catherine doesn’t even fit the mould — she’s not an earl’s daughter or blue-blooded. The sadness is Harry was so close to Catherine.”
And now Royal Expert Phil Dampier has warned Harry that he “needs to rein back” in bashing the royals if he wants to be successful and salvage his crumbling reputation.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive, Dampier said: “Making documentaries has never really gone well for the royals, particularly Prince Edward when he started making lots of documentaries about his own family. That ended in disaster,”
“Harry… needs to rein back, and hopefully we’re not going to get any more slagging off the royal family in his documentaries, and he moves into other things.”
Harry and Meghan’s initial bombshell claims about the royals did not resonate well with the public, who have steadily distanced their support from the Montecito couple.
The once beloved prince was dealt a crushing blow as his popularity continues to plunge.
His popularity is at 27%, seven points down from what it was back in June when the Daily Beast published its Royal Power List.
