“Together, we packed backpacks brimming with essential supplies, bundled pencils, and wrote heartfelt notes filled with encouragement, hope, and joy—reminders to each student that they are seen, valued, and capable of great things.”

To conclude, the couple wrote: “These backpacks will soon find their way into the hands of children and classrooms across Los Angeles, giving students not just the tools they need for the year ahead, but a tangible reminder that their community is behind them every step of the way.”

The couple’s new message comes as details of their “downgraded” Netflix deal emerge. It was revealed earlier this week that the Duke, 40, and Duchess of Sussex, 44, now have a new “multi-year first look” deal with the streaming giant, in what was christened an “extension” of their partnership with it through their media company, Archewell Productions.

PR and crisis expert Mark Borkowski have voiced his opinion on the couple’s “first look” deal with Netflix.

Speaking to the Mirror about the couple’s new deal, he added: “It’s not like they’re gradually uncoupling. It’s a downgrade.

“Netflix are not going to expose themselves to those budgets again, and it’s Netflix saying, ‘Well, look, let’s have a look at your content, but we’ll pick and choose, mate.”

The couple’s original deal, which they signed in 2020, was said to be worth £78 million [$100m].
