A young girl suffered severe injuries after falling off a zipline while on holiday in India with her family. Trisha Bijwe, 12, has been undergoing treatment in the hospital since the incident in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, on June 8. While on the zipline, the rope connected to her harness snapped, sending her plummeting nearly 50 feet to the ground.
She suffered multiple fractures to her leg and was initially treated at a local hospital in Manali before being transferred to Chandigarh. Trisha is now receiving treatment at a private hospital in Nagpur, her home town, where doctors continue to monitor her condition.
Her family claimed the zipline facility lacked essential safety measures and failed to provide immediate assistance following the accident.
They shared a video of the incident, which shows the lack of adequate supervision and emergency response.
The shocking footage, shared across social media, shows the horrifying moment the rope snaps as Trisha appears to be nearing the end of the adventure.
The 12-year-old has one hand on the rope and the other outstretched to her side when the tragic incident occurs.
She quickly plummets to the ground, which is covered in large stones and other bits of rubble.
Trisha’s family are now demanding accountability and stricter regulations for adventure tourism activities.
They are urging authorities to investigate the accident and implement measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
