Guinness has confirmed the opening date of its brand new UK brewery, which is set to become a go-to tourist attraction in the country’s capital. It was announced earlier this year that the famous Irish drink producer would open a Guinness Open Gate Brewery in London in 2025, and a date has finally been set. As the UK capital gears up for a busy Christmas season, tourists and Londoners alike will have the chance to visit the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Covent Garden, Central London from Thursday, December 11.
The new 54,000 square foot venue, which is being called a microbrewery by the brand, will be located on the site of the historic Old Brewer’s Yard at The Yards. Similar to the Open Gate Brewery in Dublin, which is located to the more famous Guinness Storehouse, the new London venue will feature dining options and exclusive brews, as well as guided tours. Additionally, there will be a 360-degree immersive experience that tells the story of Guinness’s heritage.
Guinness has revealed some details about what visitors to the Open Gate Brewery in London can expect. There will be two restaurants helmed by esteemed chef Pip Lacey, as well as casual courtyard dining with pints and pies by chef Calum Franklin.
Additionally, Guinness promises spaces for public and community events. Plus, exclusive merchandise collaborations will be available through one of the two retail spaces.
There will also be the Guinness Vaults, an underground, multifunctional private-hire event space, which will also host community and consumer events in 2026, including music, arts and culture. Tickets are not yet on sale, but those interested in visiting can register their details on the venue’s website.
Visitors will be able to pour their own pints of Guinness in the exclusive 232 Bar. Details on how to book these various experiences are expected in the coming days.
