Grigor Dimitrov recieved a message of love and support from celebrity girlfriend from Eiza Gonzalez Reyna after retiring hurt from his match with Jannik Sinner. Dimitrov, 34, led the world No.1 6-3 7-5 2-2 when he fell to the floor holding his right pectoral after serving an ace.
The 34-year-old received medical treatment after returning to his chair and then left court to be assessed. He returned minutes later, and was in tears as he shook hands with his opponent and conceded the match. Despite leaving Centre Court to a standing ovation, an emotional Dimitrov was barely able to lift his arm to wave to fans as Sinner helped him off.
There was ample praise afterwards for the performance of world No.21. He also received a heartfelt message from Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez Reyna, who he has been dating since April.
Alongside a picture of her partner playing at Wimbledon, she wrote: “Love of my life, I couldn’t be more proud of you. You are BEYOND outstanding. This is just a moment that will pass and will make you even stronger.”
