It seems Greg Olsen is back on the market.

Sports Business Journal’s Richard Deitsch is reporting that Fox has not had any conversations with the former NFL tight end about a contract beyond the 2026 season.

Olsen’s current deal expires after this season, Deitsch noted, and he had “exploratory talks” with CBS Sports two years ago. CBS’ broadcasts have seen turnover recently with the departure of Tony Romo after his OWI arrest and J.J. Watt replacing him in the main booth alongside Jim Nantz.

Olsen has been teaming with Joe Davis on Fox’s No. 2 NFL broadcast team after previously working with Kevin Burkhardt, but movement in the industry could indicate a change.

Alongside the changes at CBS, which does not have a main booth established for next season, there has been recent tension between Troy Aikman and ESPN after Joe Buck’s reported massive extension with the network.

Tensions boiled over between the pair earlier this week as they reportedly had an argument before “Monday Night Football” when Buck brought up the matter.

Olsen’s full-time broadcasting career began in 2021 after his retirement from pro football, but the foundation for his post-playing career was developed long before he officially left the sport.

He was a guest game analyst for a Week 11 matchup in 2017 while his Panthers were on a bye week, becoming just the third person to do so for Fox.

Olsen signed a contract with Fox in 2020 while still active which stated he would immediately start broadcasting whenever he decided to retire, and he joined the network right after announcing his retirement on Fox NFL Sunday in 2021.
