‘Golden’ air fryer Yorkshire pudding recipe is a ‘perfect’ side dish for a roast dinner

0

This food recipe comes from Clare Andrews and serves four people. The recipes are part of her new book ‘The Ultimate Air Fryer Cookbook: One Basket Meals’ and available to buy now.

The Yorkshire pudding only takes five minutes to prepare with a cooking time of 12 minutes, perfect for whipping up over Christmas or for a delicious Sunday roast.

According to Andrews’ website, it reads: “I am sure any Yorkshire natives might not like to hear it, but you can indeed make the British classic Yorkshire puddings in an air fryer!

“This can be really handy when you need to free up some space in your oven when cooking a roast dinner with all the trimmings.

“In fact, the compact air fryer is perfectly suited to cook Yorkshire puddings. Here is my simple recipe for air fryer Yorkshire pudding which will make any roast dinner feel complete. This golden puffy pudding makes the perfect side dish for roast chicken, beef, pork or lamb.”

Method:

Firstly, start by sifting the plain flour into a large mixing bowl then crack in your eggs and add in your milk.

Using an electric hand whisk, combine the ingredients until the mixture is nice and smooth. It definitely helps if you let your Yorkshire pudding batter rest for 30 minutes or more to help them rise fully when cooking.

But it is not essential. Then place your oven proof dish into the air fryer drawer and add the vegetable oil.

Then close the drawer and pre-heat the air fryer to 190C for a couple of minutes. Once the air fryer is hot, add your Yorkshire pudding batter mix to the dish inside the air fryer drawer.

Close the drawer again and cook at 190C for around 10 to 12 minutes or until the puddings have risen and are crispy and golden outside.

Cooked Yorkshire puddings can also be frozen and then cooked from frozen in about seven minutes.
