Glastonbury fans ecstatic as they all notice one thing missing from Rod Stewart set

Rod Stewart fans were all saying the same thing as the 80-year-old took to the main stage at Glastonbury Festival yesterday (June 29). The Maggie May hitmaker performed a slew of hits including Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?, The First Cut is the Deepest and Sailing in the legends slot on the Pyramid Stage.

But fans all had the same conclusion when the singer’s set came to a close after 21 tracks, with plenty turning to social media to praise the lack of “death chants” in his performance. With bands like Kneecap and Bob Vylan dominating the narrative, some viewers were glad to see a calmer end to Rod’s set.

One X user tweeted: “Glastonbury as it used to be… Rod Stewart’s set and not a single Palestinian flag in sight and everyone enjoying themselves. No death chants or calls to wipe out the Israelis… looks like the left have packed up and gone home.”

Another agreed: “Packed out for Rod Stewart, delivering a great show. No Palestinian flags, no pictures of Hitler, no chants for extermination or killing anyone. The left gone home in the Range Rover and people just enjoying a good night out.”

Somebody else chimed in: “Rod Stewart won Glastonbury 2025, by all accounts. Not a single pro-Hamas, pro-Palestinian flag in sight. How refreshing and good to see!”

Rod didn’t keep politics out of his performance entirely, however, as Rod urged fans to “give Nigel Farage a chance”, endorsing the Reform UK leader in a chat with The Times ahead of his gig.

He said: “We’re fed up with the Tories. We’ve got to give Farage a chance. He’s coming across well. What options have we got? I know some of his family, I know his brother, and I quite like him.”

He added: “Starmer’s all about getting us out of Brexit and I don’t know how he’s going to do that. Still, the country will survive. It could be worse. We could be in the Gaza Strip.”
