Glasgow Willy Wonka experience actor finds new side hustle thanks to huge media disaster

According to the New York Post, Paterson charges $35 per personalised video, promising a quick 24-hour turnaround.

Dressed in the same emerald wig and maid outfit from the infamous event, she delivers messages while staying in character as the “meth lab” Oompa Loompa.

“Hello, Anne — I can completely sympathise with you in working at a complete and utter mess,” joked the cosplayer in one of the clips.

This opportunity to connect with fans through personalised videos serves as a potential redemption for Paterson after her unfortunate experience at the Willy’s Chocolate Experience in Glasgow two weekends ago.

Parents who fell for the dud event paid £35 a ticket, hoping their kids would have fun in the magical world from Roald Dahl’s famous book. But what they found was a near-empty building and cheap-looking props.

Kids got just one jelly bean and a little bit of lemonade while Oompa Loompas walked around.

The company that made this flop happen, House of Illuminati, has told everyone on Facebook they’ll give the money back for the 850 tickets sold for the event, reports Glasgow Live.

A spokesperson said: “I am reaching out to address the recent cancellation of the ‘Willy’s Chocolate Experience’ event. Firstly, I want to extend my sincerest apologies to each and every one of you who was looking forward to this event. I understand the disappointment and frustration this has caused, and for that, I am truly sorry.”

They added: “It’s important for me to clarify that the organisation and decisions surrounding this event were solely my responsibility. I want to make it clear that anyone who was hired externally or offered their help, are not affiliated with me or the company.

“Regarding the refunds, I am committed to rectifying this situation. All 850 transactions will continue to be refunded. This has been posted to ensure transparency and to demonstrate my commitment to making this right for everyone affected.”
