Giants have no idea what is about to hit them with John Harbaugh ready to set new standard

Buckle up.

The ride begins and it could get bumpy.

This is not to insinuate that John Harbaugh is anything other than a slam-dunk hire for the Giants. It is rare indeed when instant credibility, unimpeachable leadership and a résumé burgeoning with success walk in the door. His winning percentage in 18 years with the Ravens was .614. The Giants were 7-27 the past two seasons and their winning percentage since 2017 is .295. It is as if Harbaugh and the Giants existed in the same NFL but not at all in the same league.

Harbaugh knows exactly what he wants and how he wants it to look. Soon enough, the Giants will get the picture. His first team meeting in the spring should be something to behold. It is unfair to Brian Daboll and those who came before him to declare “recess is over” because he and the most recent Giants head coaches flopped for various reasons, some of which were not all based on their failings. More so, the temptation to wonder about the head coach is now over and done with. Harbaugh is not setting the standard. He is the standard. He has to prove nothing to anyone and everyone has to prove themselves to him
