Get rid of cellulite at home with tips from dermatologists

While you may not love the look of it, cellulite is completely normal.

Dermatologists say 80 percent to 90 percent of women have cellulite, and it’s not something that goes away easily. Some choose to undergo treatments like Biolite radiofrequency or even Botox, but there are some remedies to reduce its appearance at home.

Cellulite is more likely to occur in women, and it’s common in certain areas of the body, like arms, thighs and butt.

Speaking to Today.com, dermatologist Dr. Papri Sarkar said fat in the human body is held in place by fibrous bands. Cellulite forms when those bands break down, forming a dimple in the skin.

Use caffeine-infused moisturising products

Caffeine gives us a pick me up in the morning, but it’s also a helpful ingredient in your lotions. Products with caffeine can help to tighten your skin, temporarily improving the appearance of cellulite.

Caffeine can also increase blood flow and dehydrate cells, helping with unevenness of skin, Sakar said.

Self tan

Sakar told Today that one of the reasons we notice cellulite is because of light reflecting on the area. So if the area is darker, you’re less likely to see it.

Using self tanner or getting a spray tan can help make those cellulite dimples less noticeable, plus you’ll have a sunkissed glow.
