Samsung’s Galaxy S25 range may be talk of the town when it comes to flagship mobiles, but for anyone on a budget its £799 starting price could be off putting. There’s another Android mobile that costs less than half-price of the flagship S range.
The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is now £364, thanks to a £75 price drop on the Samsung store, as it is discounted from the usual £439 price. Samsung mobile deals seem to be popular at the moment and there are a lot of options around, from Sky Mobile’s free Fit 3 smartwatch and Buds FE with the S24 FE to O2’s airtime plan sale.
Even without the A55 5G sale the compact device offers a simple design with three camera layout and enough power behind it to do daily tasks and stream – all for £435 less than the standard 128GB S25. Despite being in the brands A range of budget devices it still comes with a host of handful features including Circle to Search and vivid nightography under the hood.
For the price shoppers can expect a decent 6.6-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. In case you were wondering that’s the same refresh rate as the S25, although the price difference does account for the S range’s higher quality Dynamic AMOLED 2x display.
Camera wise, and the budget A55 5G has a 50MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. All decent for taking day-to-day photos or posting a social media story. Of course, the speeds of the A55 5G don’t come close to the S25 and its new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset but for shoppers with cost in mind it’s still a worthy choice.
And it comes amid a huge new announcement from Samsung, as another brand new phone is on the way. The brand has announced that the new 2025 Galaxy A56 5G mobile is on the way – while it’s yet to be available to buy it’s the next edition to the brands A range.
Calling it a ‘step forward for AI for everyone’ the landing page of the new mobile is open on Samsung’s Store, and shoppers can get a glimpse at the colours. Namely, Awesome Pink, Awesome Olive, Awesome Graphite, and Awesome Lightgrey.
It’s not known how much the new A56 5G device will go on sale for, but it won’t be the current £75 discount on the Galaxy A55 5G – which you can buy here for £364. That being said, anyone fussed for the newest and latest features may want to wait, as the A56 5G will offer something new.
