The Iowa Hawkeyes football team just capped off an incredible upset victory over the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday.
Iowa had the ball on Michigan’s 16-yard line, down 19-14 with two seconds left in the game. Quarterback Hank Brown delivered a pass to Reece Vander Zee in Michigan’s end zone as time expired, resulting in a win for the Hawkeyes.
While Iowa was ahead of Michigan in the rankings (Iowa entered the game at No. 17 and Michigan at No. 18), the game being at Michigan Stadium meant most expected star quarterback Bryce Underwood to lead his team to victory.
Instead, Iowa beat Michigan for the first time since upsetting it in 2016.
Few are happier about this than 49ers star tight end George Kittle, who played his college ball at Iowa.
Kittle took this opportunity to troll two Michigan legends after the upset. He initially wrote on X, “HAWKEYES NEVER A DOUBT” right after the game ended.
He followed this up by tagging former NFL lineman-turned-media personality Taylor Lewan and sportscaster Rich Eisen, both of whom went to Michigan, and wrote, “@TaylorLewan77 @RichEisenShow @richeisen get ready to learn HAWKEYE buddies.”
Unfortunately for Kittle, he can’t party too hard Saturday night because the 49ers have a game Sunday. But he’ll still savor his alma mater’s big win against Michigan.
