Gary Lineker is reportedly in discussions to screen television highlights of the Club World Cup on his podcast this summer. The veteran broadcaster is set to depart the BBC after presenting this Sunday’s Match of the Day.
Lineker had previously agreed to step down from Match of the Day at the end of this campaign and host the BBC’s coverage of the FA Cup next season before fronting their World Cup 2026 offering. But he will be leaving the corporation early after a social media fallout that arose when he shared a post about Zionism which featured a rat, a symbol that has historically been used as an antisemitic insult.
