Garmin fans can snap up three surprise watch sales

An active summer, looking to track steps or getting into fitness, adding a smartwatch can help keep a routine. For anyone looking for a deal on the latest sportswatch, three retailers have cut the price of Garmin models, with many set to arrive by Father’s Day this weekend.

Shoppers still on the lookout for a pressie for their dad to open this Sunday, June 15th, we’ve found three retailers offering price cuts on a range of Garmin watches. A brand with higher prices than the likes of Fitbit, the added cost comes with good performance ratings and in-depth health statistics for wearers.

As Amazon, HSamuel, and Argos all cut prices of different Garmin models, offering something for each type of shopper. For those on the lookout for a smaller multi-sport tracking watch, a GPS one for tracking runs, or one to monitor their heart rate, we’ve found the deals to suit.

Starting with the cheapest model, over at Argos it drops the price of the Garmin Forerunner 165 GPS model to £199.99 – down from the usual £249 cost. As the name suggests, this model is ideal for keen runners. It has a pace, distance and heart rate monitor all displayed on an AMOLED touchscreen display.

Despite the cheaper price, especially compared to other Garmin models, this does come with a built-in GPS and a lightweight design. This is recommended for city runners, as its lack of mapping features makes it less reliable for a detailed overview of terrain – instead, the Garmin Forerunner 255 could be an option.

Something worth flagging to shoppers, the model is actually available for less at Amazon – with this £183 price. However, it’s definitely worth looking at with caution, as the Amazon sale price is from a third part retailer, not Garmin despite being dispatched by Amazon.

HSamuel is offering the biggest discount around, as £325 is cut of the price of the Garmin Epix Gen 2. Dropping it down from £649.99 to £324.99. This model is still recommended for fitness but it delves into health stats a lot more than other models.

It offers users 24/7 health monitoring and has more advanced satellite coverage and TopoActive Mapping. When it comes to design there’s a sleek stainless steel bezel, silicone strap (more ideal for training) and a fibre-reinforced polymer case.

Looking elsewhere, the Epix Pro (Gen 2) is reduced at Goldsmiths down to £500, from an original £829.99 price, arguably the biggest price drop of them all.

Shoppers looking for a Garmin model that’s an all rounder when it comes to sports and activities – the Fenix 6S could be a model to look at. Reduced by 18% at Amazon, this model is now £436, instead of the usual £529.99 price. It comes with a host of the usual sport tracking features but goes a step further in tracking stress levels, calories and sleep qualities.

Plus, it has more features to put it in the category of a smartwatch,  as it can be synced up with a compatible smartphone to use Garmin Pay Contactless or send phone notifications to users’ wrists as they come in.
