Fyre Festival founder offers Wonka disaster chance of redemption after prison stint

Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland has offered the organisers of the viral Wonka experience the chance to make amends.

The disastrous Glasgow event – which was scripted by AI and featured nightmarish performers and dismal scenery – has gone viral after guests were left disappointed and freaked out.

McFarland has had similar experiences with failing to deliver on promises when it comes to entertainment and served four years in prison for the Fyre scam.

Speaking to TMZ, he’s now invited the Wonka founders to the impending Fyre 2 to make amends with the parents and kids who were let down.

Sharing his advice, he said: “One, you’ve got to find a plan to make it up for the kids.

“Two, I will hire you to do the Willy Wonka Experience at Fyre 2 for adults.”

There are no official plans to bring back the Fyre Fest just yet, though McFarland clearly has it on his mind despite his stint behind bars.

“Fix it for the kids first, then come join the team!” he added. “They have to redeliver.”

McFarland also points out the “interesting” limitations of AI, calling the advertisements “genius” though the experience highlights how the technology can go wrong.

“Guys, fix it, make it up to the kids,” he continued.

“Then you have a job at Fyre 2, we’ll give you the guardrails and you can do what you dreamed of.”

The festival organiser’s own failed project led to him pleading guilty to defrauding investors and the disaster has been detailed in multiple documentaries.

Fyre 2 is tentatively in the works, though McFarland is taking a step back and not confirming anything concrete just yet.

Furious guests at the Wonka experience will just have to wait to see what comes of their tragic trip to Glasgow after the vids went viral this week.
