The Norwegian Royal Family has made a major announcement about Princess Ingrid Alexandra and released a set of stunning new pictures to mark the occasion. Norway’s future Queen, 21, has travelled to Australia ahead of classes beginning at the start of next month to begin a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Sydney.
They said the princess, Crown Prince Haakon’s eldest child and Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s second child, has settled on campus and is ready to embark on her new chapter. They also released a stunning new set of pictures of the princess in Australia, posing at the university campus.
The royal looks effortlessly cool in casual attire, wearing a navy knitted jumper, a pair of blue jeans and white trainers.
Ingrid Alexandra is second in line to the throne and will one day be Queen of Norway.
The princess said: “I am looking forward to starting my studies at the University of Sydney.
“Being a student will be exciting, and I look forward to gaining new perspectives on both European and international affairs.
“I am confident that I will learn a great deal.”
The young royal was born on January 21, 2004, at Rikshospitalet University Hospital in Oslo.
She was christened in April of that year, with her grandfather, King Harald V being the one presenting her for the baptism.
In addition to the Norwegian King, her godparents include King Felipe of Spain, King Frederik of Denmark, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Princess Märtha Louise, and Ms Marit Tjessem – the princess’s maternal grandmother.
