Furious Meghan Markle embroiled in dispute over new book as publisher makes demands

One simple request made by a publisher has left Meghan Markle reportedly “furious”, claims a royal commentator regarding the Duchess of Sussex’s new tell-all book.

Speculation is rife that the Duchess of Sussex is set to pen her own memoir, despite the Royal Family still coming to terms with the contents of Prince Harry’s autobiography, Spare.

Commentator and royal biographer, Angela Levin, appeared on GB News with presenter, Nana Akua, to discuss the potential contents of the book.

According to Levin, publishers have demanded to see three chapters of the book for review – a request which has made the Duchess “livid”.

The royal commentator explained: “Publishers have said that they want to see three chapters before they offer any money, and she is livid. A woman like her would be, she wouldn’t understand that most writing a book are asked that first.”

Book publishers always state professional editing is essential to ensure writers are on the correct path and so that the foundations of the work are set.

The guest appearing on GB News explained her reasoning behind why Meghan might be furious about the ask.

Ms Levin said: “She doesn’t want to be just an ordinary person who gets her writing checked.”

She also revealed she expected Meghan to get her way and not get her work reviewed and stated “Meghan always wins”.

The royal commentator also issued a word of advice to the Duchess: “She has to be careful that she is not moaning again, we have heard it so many times before.”

The Duchess of Sussex’s first children’s book, The Bench, was a picture book for children and published in June 2021, by Random House Children’s Books and it was illustrated by Christian Robinson.

It depicted the relationship between father and son, and was inspired by the relationship Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, has with their son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor – now four years old.

Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, faced further scrutiny after the release of Omid Scobie’s book Endgame focused again on the relationship between the California-based couple and the wider Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex made headlines around the world with the release of his debut memoir Spare, and it seems Meghan Markle could follow a similar path.

Meghan has been working on “rebuilding her brand” after it was announced she had signed with the talent agency William Morris Endeavor.
