Freeze pasta using extra step most people skip to safely store it for up to 2 months


Knowing how to store pasta will not only prevent wastage but also save time when looking for something easy to prepare on the go.

For optimal results when storing leftover pasta, it’s best to keep the sauce and noodles separate.

It’s important to remember this before combining the sauce and pasta, particularly if you intend to store your leftovers in the freezer.

Freezing the sauce separately is key, as both the pasta and sauce require different thawing or reheating times.

After allowing the cooked pasta to cool for a bit, transfer it into airtight containers and place them in the fridge, where it will stay fresh for 3 to 5 days.

When it’s time to defrost, simply place your bag of frozen pasta in a colander in the sink and run cool water over it.

You can also add the frozen pasta directly into boiling water or a simmering pasta sauce.

Thawing and reheating times will vary based on the amount of pasta you’re using, but typically, 1 to 2 minutes is all it takes to bring the pasta to the desired temperature.

Since the pasta is already fully cooked, your main concern is ensuring it’s as warm as the sauce or other ingredients you’re serving it with.
