Anyone with a Freeview TV should definitely head to their settings and give things a quick retune. It’s just been confirmed that a swathe of channels are changing and not keeping things updated could mean homes miss out on things to watch. “On 18 June 2025 some broadcasters are making changes to their channels,” Freeview confirmed.
“You will need to retune to update your TV and keep your channels and TV Guide up to date.”
So what’s being switched around, and how do you get this change?
Firstly, there are two services getting a rename. That’s TV Pride (Ch 76) is being switched to That’s Dance and That’s Pride MCR (Ch 79) now changes to That’s Dance MCR.
Next, there are two channels changing positions on the planner. Blaze+1 is moving from channel 81 to channel 92 and Rewind TV swaps from channel 92 to channel 81.
Finally, there are two things launching, including Must Have Ideas (Ch 96), which shows shopping content 24 hours a day, and OUTflix Proud (Ch 288). This channel offers a mix of LGBTQ+ original series, reality shows, documentaries, and feature films.
“Channels are constantly evolving on Freeview with individual channels making the decision to move, add or remove channels,” the service said.
“Freeview continues to ensure that audiences can enjoy a rich and varied content.”
Along with these updates, the team RXTV has also spotted that 4seven is changing the way it broadcasts its content. The update basically means that more people will be able to view things on the platform including live sport.
After the retune, you should see 4seven on channel 49, with an old version also appearing on channel 790.
If you want to get this full channel list, then here’s how to retune your screen.
Freeview has issued advice on how to retune devices, and here are the steps every user needs to follow.
• Press menu on your box or TV remote control
• Select ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, ‘update’ or a similar option. If you’re asked for a password, the default code is ‘1234’ or ‘0000’.
• Select ‘first-time installation’ (sometimes called ‘factory reset’, ‘full retune’ or ‘default settings’).
•Press ‘OK’ if your equipment asks if it’s OK to delete existing channels and then your retune should start automatically. If you’re prompted to, save the channels that are found.
Another reason to retune is the recent ITV update which has launched ITV Quiz. As the name suggests, this platform offers back-to-back access to programmes such as Tipping Point, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Wheel of Fortune, Deal or No Deal, Lino and Tenable.
ITV Quiz can be found on Ch 28.
