Four-ingredient air fryer omelette is 'perfect' for breakfast and 'ready in no time'

Omelettes are notoriously hard to master when cooked in a pan, and can quickly go wrong if they get too hot.

One avid home-cook-turned-food blogger has found a solution to the problem and shared her easy technique to get perfect results every time.

It doesn’t require any special ingredients at all – just one energy-efficient appliance known as an air fryer.

Sharing her simple recipe on the food blog Melanie Cooks, Melanie Mendelson said: “This omelette is a breeze to make.

“The best part is, you don’t even need to flip an omelette when you cook it in the air fryer!”

A small pan that fits inside the air fryer is an essential piece of equipment for this recipe, but first, spritz it with cooking spray to stop the omelette from sticking.

Alternatively, brush it with a few drops of oil then set it inside the air fryer before preparing the egg mixture.

To do this, crack the eggs into a bowl and add the milk, then whisk until smooth before sprinkling in salt and pepper to taste.

Keep whisking the egg mixture while simultaneously stirring in the cheese, then once combined, pour the mixture into the prepared pan.

Set the air fryer to 190C and cook for six minutes until the omelette is cooked through with a little colour on. Melanie said: “When done, carefully remove the pan from the air fryer basket. You might want to let it cool for a minute as it will be very hot.”

The omelette can be served on its own or with a topping of leafy greens and a spicy sauce, like sriracha.
