A new season of Fortnite is about to be released, but before the servers are taken offline for maintenance.
Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 4 makes its debut on August 7 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo consoles, mobile and PC.
Sadly, however, fans won’t be able to check out all of the new content until server downtime comes to an end.
The news was announced by Epic Games on X (formerly Twitter), alongside a teaser of the new season content.
“Calling pest control!” reads an Epic Games tweet. “Downtime for v37.00 begins at 2 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”
For UK fans, this means that Fortnite will be taken offline in full at 7am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 6.30am UK time.
Epic hasn’t revealed exactly when downtime will come to an end, but maintenance typically lasts for 2-3 hours.
This means Fortnite and all companion game modes should be back online from 9am BST UK time at the earliest. With the release of a new season, however, there’s a strong chance the downtime will last even longer.
Daily Express will update this article with all the latest developments, so keep checking back for confirmation about the Fortnite server maintenance.
In terms of what fans can expect from the new season, Chapter 6, Season 4 is called Shock ‘N’ Awesome.
The season features a crossover with The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, as well as another Halo skin as part of the Battle Pass.
Bugs will also infest the island, including the speedy Swarmers, as well as Bombers that creep up on enemies and let “loose a goop lob from afar”. There are also the gigantic Queen enemies, which are bigger than many buildings.
Fortunately, players will have new weapons to use against the monsters. This includes the Bug Blaster, the Leadspitter 3000 minigun, Sweeper Shotgun, O.X.R. Rifle, Wrecker Revolver, and the Swarmstrike rocket launcher.
