Former ice skate champion charged with fleecing Park Lane Hilton out of £549k


A senior director of Park Lane’s Hilton Hotel appeared in court yesterday charged with defrauding the company out of more than half a million pounds. Former figure skater Jubilee Mandl-Daroczy, 40, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to face fraud and money laundering charges.

She won gold at the Austrian Figure Skating Championships in 1998 and 1999 and was ranked amongst world’s top 10 sexiest athletes in 2005.

It is alleged that between January 1 2022 and February 16 this year, she committed fraud while employed as the hotel’s Director of Business Development, in which she was expected to safeguard, or not to act against, the financial interests of The Hilton Hotel Group, she “dishonestly abused that position intending to make a gain, namely £549,292.”

She is also charged with one count of money laundering in that it is alleged that she “concealed, disguised, converted, transferred or removed criminal property by means of financial transfers” over the same period.

It was indicated that she will deny the offences and Mandl-Daroczy, from White City, West London, was remanded into custody.

She was appointed to the post in 2017. The case was adjourned for trial at to Southwark Crown Court with another hearing later this year.
