Ford's relationship quality with auto suppliers has sunk, study shows



A closely watched annual automotive industry study identifies major challenges facing Ford Motor Company now and foreshadows potential problems in the near future amid increasing competition and costs as automakers transition to electric vehicles.

The 23rd annual Automotive Supplier Working Relations Index (WRI) study from Plante Moran, which provides a window into the quality of relationships six major automakers have with their suppliers based on confidential feedback from suppliers, reveals Ford has sunk “significantly” over the past year with its supplier relations in areas including trust, integrity and long-term strategy.
