Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a leading 2024 Republican presidential candidate, was not injured after he was involved in a car accident in Tennessee Tuesday morning, according to his spokesperson.
“This morning, the governor was in a car accident while traveling to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee,” DeSantis’ spokesperson Bryan Griffin told USA TODAY. “He and his team are uninjured.”
“We appreciate the prayers and well wishes of the nation for his continued protection while on the campaign trail,” Griffin added.
DeSantis was traveling to a presidential campaign event when the crash occurred. A spokesperson for DeSantis did not provide any additional details about the accident.
