Fitness app helps woman lose 20lbs in eight weeks without the gym

Many individuals have lofty weight loss ambitions, but the journey can often seem daunting and complex, leading to feelings of discouragement and a defininte lack of motivation. This was the scenario for Becky, who has grappled with her weight and overall health intermittently since her teenage years.

Becky admits she “put on a lot of weight” during her younger years, and again in 2020 and 2021. When she embarked on her weight loss journey, she found it challenging to maintain consistency and motivation. However, thanks to the WalkFit app, Becky managed to shed 20 pounds in just eight weeks.

She said: “This is just the start for me, and I feel incredibly proud of what I’ve achieved so far. Each week, I dedicated time to focus on myself, my health, and my goals. Consuming nourishing and satisfying meals became a priority, as did my daily walks.

WalkFit is a walking and weight loss app designed for real people with hectic schedules. Right now, new users can save up to 61% off their initial subscription period, reports the Mirror.

Easy to use, the platform provides personalised walking and weight loss plans based on age, weight and fitness level. It also offers indoor-friendly options if outdoor activities aren’t feasible for everyone and includes built-in step and calorie trackers.

Becky, who has been hitting her step goal at least five days a week, every week, says she was proud of herself for her commitment to getting her 11,000 steps in. The WalkFit app has daily goals and fun challenges to keep users on track, along with motivation tools such as streaks, badges and progress tracking.

Becky said: “Some days were just absolutely freezing outside or maybe it was raining or even snowing I didn’t let that stop me. If the weather wasn’t cooperating, I got on my walking pad and I got the steps in.”

To begin using the application, users start by completing a personalised questionnaire that enables WalkFit to customise a programme based on their fitness objectives, lifestyle patterns and prior experience with exercise or weight reduction. It is accessible on iOS and Android and supports six languages including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.

With the application proving particularly popular amongst women aged over 35, WalkFit was developed to demonstrate to people that walking is sufficient. “I was so terrified at the beginning,” Becky admits as she offers her advice to others in the same position.

She continued: “I was hopeful and had some belief in myself, but I was so scared. When I look at weight loss stories, I used to think ‘that will never be me’, or ‘I’m just not meant to have a story like this’, but every day that I show up for myself, I’m proving that belief wrong. You can do that too.

“You can do it, and you have to just start small. Pace around the house for five minutes every hour. Get outside for 30 minutes per day to get some steps in. Over time, the small things add up.”

If this app doesn’t suit everyone’s needs, there are other options available, such as MyFitnessPal, an all-in-one food, exercise and calorie tracker that offers both free and paid subscription options. Another alternative is the Nike Training Club App, which provides access to over 200 free workouts and targeted training programmes.

Users of the app, like Becky, have taken to Trustpilot to leave their opinions. One person said: “I am really enjoying using this app. I have lost 6lb in three weeks just by following the exercises.”

“I like the fact I can exercise at my own speed, and there are so many daily choices, I can pick what I want and what I have time for on each particular day,” said another.

Some others disagreed, as one said: “Not for me, I tried this app for 3 weeks, but found it uninspiring & I can’t see how you can really get fit and lose weight in 10 minutes a day. I contacted the company and raised my concerns, and they agreed to give me a full refund.”

Another reviewer wrote: “I’m only able to push myself daily because of this app. I like that everyday is different. So far I have no suggestions for improvement.”
