A paedophile who told what he thought was a nine-year-old girl’s mother he wanted to meet the child so he could rape her has been jailed. Michael Storey, 56, from Gateshead, was actually talking with a police officer, Newcastle Crown Court heard. In February, during a two-week period, he told officers that young girls were a “serious turn on” and he would “love” to have non-consensual sex with them.
Storey was sentenced to five years in jail after admitting two counts of arranging the commission of a child sex offence. Rachael Glover, prosecuting, said the paedophile got in touch with the profile of a woman on Snapchat who told him she had an eight-year-old niece who she sexually abused. The court heard that Storey told her the “youngest ones were a serious turn on.” Storey then suggested that they could abuse the girl together.
A second profile, which claimed to belong to a local woman, then messaged Storey on Telegram, saying she had a nine-year-old girl whom she liked to watch men rape, the BBC reported. Storey said he would “love” to do the same, and graphically described what he would do to her.
He also asked for indecent images of the child, detailing that he wanted anything “utterly filthy, dirty and depraved”, but not including children aged younger than six-years-old, the court heard. In addition, Storey sent photos of himself in an aroused state to the woman.
The pair then started to arrange a date on which to meet up so Storey could rape the girl.
He suggested a weekend, because she would not be in school, and he could rape her more than once. Storey told her he could not wait. March 9 was decided upon and he was arrested on February 13.
Judge Sarah Mallet said Storey would have been jailed for 15 years if his plan had been executed.
As well as being jailed, he was made subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and told he must sign the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.
