Plenty of people head to Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds to visit Diddly Squat farm – after seeing the location on TV.
The famous venue is owned by Jeremy Clarkson and appeared on hit series Clarkson’s Farm – and it’s open for the public to visit between Wednesday and Sunday. While there, visitors can shop for a selection of wares and homegrown goodies at the farm shop.
However, the chance to roam the fields and see the livestock, grains, and honey production up close is off limits. Instead, the public is welcomed to explore the shop-front and adjacent lands.
So is Diddly Squat worth a visit? A Clarkson fan named Ashna took to TikTok to air her thoughts in a video captioned: “I went to Diddly Squat Farm and I have a British bone to pick with Jeremy Clarkson.”
Ashna recounts how her husband had been buzzing about the farm and they decided it was time for a visit, especially with it being only an hour from where they live.
She describes the setting as gorgeous, saying: “It is so lovely driving through The Costwolds, it is absolutely stunning.”
Ashna and her family set out for a delightful countryside excursion, only to find themselves amid a throng of like-minded visitors when they arrived at the farm around 3.30pm.
Relaying her experience, Ashna admitted: “By the time we had to queue we weren’t allowed in because the shop closed at 4.30pm and we couldn’t just get in the queue to look around.”
Not to have their day dampened, the family took a brief jaunt to Clarkson’s pub – the Farmer’s Dog, in Asthall.
Ashna noted: “We didn’t have a booking because, no fear, Clarkson said we didn’t need to. When we got into the restaurant area, we saw the queues forming and we did get a bit worried.”
They were warned it could be a few hours before they secured a table, only to be pleasantly surprised minutes later.
Ashna recalled: “We were then told it could be up to three hours before we get a table. They gave us a buzzer and we sat down and literally five minutes later we got a table service.”
The family were full of praise for the experience, adding: “All in all, it was a really great day out and I can’t wait to come back.”
However, they did have one gripe. Ashna quipped humorously: “All I have to say is Clarkson, where were you? We were really hoping to see you. I wanted you to take a picture with my son, so let me know when you’re there next time, thank you.”
The video prompted many of comments – including people sharing their feedback for Ashna. One said: “Maybe plan ahead. It’s going to be a popular place leave earlier next time.”
Another commented: “Maybe he has a life? I’ve never seen Jamie Oliver in his restaurants.”
A third suggested: “He really needs to hire a lookalike to save on disappointment or even some of those cut outs you stand behind the for taking photos.”
Another agreed, writing: “Jeremy – get a nice big cardboard cut out of yourself.”
