The new Formula One 2025 season is less than a week away as the teams make their final preparations for their campaign opener at the Australian Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton eagerly anticipating his Ferrari debut. The Briton made the move from Mercedes across the winter after 12 years with the Silver Arrows and has already got to grips with their SF-75 car in testing in Bahrain. The 40-year-old will be going all out to claim a record eighth drivers’ championship crown and halt Max Verstappen’s run of four consecutive titles.
But it could prove to be the most exciting season yet before the new engine regulations mix up the order in 2026, with four teams expected to fight for the title. McLaren will be confident of backing up their constructors’ title after strong performances from Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, while Mercedes are heading in a new direction with George Russell and 18-year-old starlet Kimi Antonelli. But with the FIA courting controversy by introducing a swearing ban and Drive to Survive dripping unseen bits of drama all over the paddock, the final week of build-up should be an interesting one.
