The F1 calendar has been announced for 2026, setting the tempo for another year of Formula One. Before then, however, a new champion will be crowned, with Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen duelling it out for glory.
Piastri leads the way by 10 points heading into this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix with McLaren team-mate Norris trailing close behind, while Verstappen has drifted to 49 back behind the Australian in third following a disastrous weekend in Barcelona that landed him three extra penalty points on his FIA super license.
Verstappen now walks a tightrope heading into the races in Canada and Austria. If he picks up another penalty point, he will receive an automatic one-race suspension that would effectively end his chances of sniping a fifth successive Drivers’ Championship title.
