Ezra Miller is back in the public eye as they promote their upcoming movie “The Flash.”
Miller, 30, walked the red carpet for the premiere Monday and paid tribute to their “maestro” director Andy Muschietti, Warner Bros. executives and fellow cast members. The premiere came amid a slew of legal trouble for Miller, including arrests for burglary, disorderly conduct and assault as well as accusations of grooming an 18-year-old activist by the teen’s parents.
The actor thanked Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav “and the dynamic duo – Peter Safran and James Gunn – for your grace and discernment and care in the context of my life and in bringing this moment actually to fruition,” in a video shared by Deadline.
The cast of “The Flash,” which includes Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle and Ron Livingston, did not address press on the red carpet. The event marked the first public appearance Miller has made since their string of controversy last year.

In a statement obtained by USA TODAY in August, Miller said they were undergoing treatment for “complex mental health issues” following their recent string of scandals, including arrests, felonies as well as assault and abuse allegations.
“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” they said. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

“The Flash” moved forward despite the negative attention surrounding Miller last year.
At Warner Bros. Discovery quarterly earnings call on Aug. 4, which revealed some major changes for HBO Max and Discovery+, CEO David Zaslav named “The Flash” film as one of the upcoming projects he’s excited about.

“We have some great DC films coming up: ‘Black Adam,’ ‘Shazam! (Fury of the Gods)’ and ‘(The) Flash,'” he said. “We are very excited about them. We’ve seen them. We think they are terrific and we think we can make them even better.”
Miller expressed gratitude to their “irresistible dream cast” at the premiere Monday night as well as “thousands of artists and workers who made this movie, everybody who supported us in our lives and in the world. and everybody who supported me in my life and in the world along this decade long trying and very beautiful peregrination.”
