It’s well known that certain household appliances can significantly affect our domestic energy costs, and air fryers have become a ‘must-have’ for many due to their potential to reduce these bills.
A recent survey of 1,000 shoppers from the UK and the US revealed the appliances they simply couldn’t do without, with air fryers taking the top spot and Ninja being named the ‘top appliance brand’. ‘High-end vacuums’ were the second most coveted device, with Dyson ranking second on the list, while competitor Shark came in sixth place.
Research from QS Supplies indicates that consumers choose these devices primarily for their time efficiency. The most sought-after luxury appliances save users an average of three hours per week, equating to 6.5 days saved over a year, and costs 36p to operate, as The Mirror reports.
This can be said for the popular 9.5L Double Stack, the Foodi Max Dual Zone, the Foodi Flex Drawer model. The versatile Foodi Flex Drawer model can cook different foods simultaneously using various functions and timers, and can also be transformed into a larger 104L ‘MegaZone’ by removing the divider, merging the two baskets into one large drawer.
The typical 1500-watt air fryer, such as the Ninja AF100UK model, only costs 36p an hour to operate. However, given that the average cooking time for these efficient countertop devices is between 15 to 30 minutes, consumers will be shelling out significantly less.
The Ninja Speedi has a ‘one-pot’ design. It can whip up meals in just 15 minutes and cook up to four portions simultaneously. However, it’s worth noting that compared to other models, it’s the most costly to run, consuming 1760 watts per hour instead of the average 1500 W.
Dyson, a brand cherished by consumers for its potent home cleaning technology, came in second. In line with the spring trend, it too has slashed prices for shoppers.
Discounts reach up to £150, with the largest saving found on its Dyson V15 Detect Submarine vacuum – although even in the sale, this remains a high-end purchase at £649.
For those seeking a vacuum that’s less of a strain on the budget, the Dyson V8 Advanced model is now £100 off in the sale, available for £229. It boasts specific ‘detangling technology’, making it ideal for pet owners. This is akin to the Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Pet Vacuum, often touted as a competitor to Dyson’s range.
Slashed from £479.99 to £299, customers can pocket a cool £180 saving on this item. Equipped with an 80-minute runtime, it has been receiving positive comments from purchasers for this unexpected endurance.
One customer revealed: “I was pleasantly surprised at its suction and time battery held power. The anti-hair roll does not work as I expected it to. I still had to get a pair of scissors out.” Another consumer highlighted the gadget’s finesse in navigation but also noted some drawbacks: “It steers beautifully and the flexology gadget is brilliant. However, it is an absolute pain in other ways: It is top-heavy and constantly falls over.”
