Royal fans are all saying the same thing tonight as Queen Camilla and Princess Anne stepped out together at an event.
The Queen, 77, and her sister-in-law, 74, both arrived at The University of London on Wednesday night for a special rare joint engagement which saw Princess Anne give Her Majesty an honorary doctorate of literature for herpromotion of literacy and literature for over 20 years.
Queen Camilla was one of five people tonight who were presented with honours on the University of London’s Foundation Day by the school’s Chancellor Princess Anne. The event is one of very few the pair have attended together.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, royal fans seemed delighted at the joint appearance, which some claimed they had been waiting for.
One fan wrote: “This is the duo we never knew we needed.”
A second fan said: “Aww yay! We’ve waited a long time for a joint engagement.”
A third commented: “Love this pair.”
Another person wrote: “Look how close they are.”
Queen Camilla also received praise from royal fans online who believe she was well-deserving of the recognition.
One said: “She has done a lot for children’s literacy.”
Another commented: “I’m far from a fan of Camilla, but her literary work and domestic violence work both are outstanding. She never took the “easy” patronages/causes with perks.
“The award didn’t need to be publicly presented, though it will highlight the work and she does deserve the praise/recognition none the less.”
The ceremony is one of few public engagements the Queen has attended since becoming ill with a chest infection earlier this month.
