Whether you’re looking to get your Christmas shopping done early, or you’re a retro gaming fan hoping to secure this year’s must-have device, it sometimes pays to plan ahead.
Evercade recently announced plans to release a brand new Bartop Arcade machine in time for Christmas. The Evercade Alpha Taito Bartop Arcade launches on November 12, complete with ten classic games built-in to the device.
If you want to secure your machine at launch, then pre-orders have just gone live for the Taito Bartop, complete with a £30 discount for customers who buy now.
The upcoming arcade machine can be pre-ordered from the Funstock website for £199.99. The perfect Christmas present for retro gaming fans, the device will cost £229.99 at launch.
Needless to say, the arcade machine will be compatible with existing Evercade cartridges, which means you can also play collections from the likes of Atari, NeoGeo, Toaplan and Irem.
The device is also said to contain “authentic, competition-grade arcade controls”, as well as a bright 8-inch display and built-in stereo speakers.
Fans can further customise the Evercade Alpha by swapping the light-up marquee panels between Bubble Bobble, Space Invaders and Rastan-themed artwork.
Dual USB ports and support for Evercade-compatible controllers mean you can play co-op and competitive multiplayer on the device.
It will be the third Evercade Alpha Arcade Machine to hit stores, following the release of two Capcom-themed devices in 2024.
After selling out at launch, the Capcom Bartops will also be restocked on November 12. Priced at £229.99, fans can pre-order both devices now.
There’s a Street Fighter-themed arcade machine containing games like Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter Alpha, as well as a Mega Man version containing Mega Man – The Power Battle, Final Fight and Strider.
