Princess Eugenie has been named as patron for Artworks just 11 days after her mum Sarah Ferguson’s latest scandal. Taking to Instagram, Artswork shared their excitement at welcoming the 35-year-old on board.

According to their website, Artswork is “committed to empowering young people to lead, be changemakers and actively get involved and work within the arts and creative sector”. Artswork said in a new statement: “We are thrilled to announce that Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie has become our new patron. Her support marks a significant moment in our mission to champion creativity and amplify the voices of children and young people. As a charity dedicated to empowering young lives through creativity, we’re so pleased to have Her Royal Highness join us in advocating for inclusive, creative opportunities that enable young people to make change happen.”

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to nurturing talent, building confidence, and empowering young people to become the next generation of creative and cultural leaders.

“Stay tuned for more as we begin this exciting new chapter together. @princesseugenie”.

Showing her passion for the subject, Eugenie studied History of Art at Newcastle University and currently works as the director of Hauser & Wirth Art Gallery in London.

The company’s statement was accompanied by several photographs of Eugenie engaging with young people partaking in an Artswork workshop.

Eugenie’s announcement comes less than two weeks after Sarah was dropped as patron for many charities – including Prevent Breast Cancer, The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation and Julia’s House.

It recently emerged that Sarah had come under fire following resurfaced emails that showed her interacting with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The royal can be seen issuing an apology for disassociating herself from her “supreme friend” when it had emerged that he had bailed her out financially. A spokesperson said that Sarah had only sent the emails after Epstein – who took his own life in prison in 2019 – made threats to sue her.
