England’s manager faced stiff questioning Saturday ahead of his team’s daunting World Cup Round of 16 match against Mexico.

Thomas Tuchel was asked whether players would use Viagra to help deal with the altitude at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, which is over 7,200 feet above sea level.

“Is it true that you guys are considering using Viagra to contrast or mitigate the effects of the altitude? That’s information that came along, so I wanted to ask you if that’s really true, that information. Thank you,” a reporter asked regarding the erectile dysfunction drug.

“The information and the support didn’t reach me, so that’s not true,” Tuchel replied with a chuckle.

Later, when veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson was asked about the altitude, he replied, “Well, the Viagra helped. I’m joking, that’s a joke.”

Mexico playing on home soil and the altitude have left many believing England will be fighting an uphill battle Sunday evening as the Three Lions try to win their first World Cup since 1966.

As of late Sunday morning, however, England was the favorite on DraftKings at -125, while Mexico were +100.

England had further concerns about spying ahead of Sunday’s match, so much so that Tuchel’s squad didn’t travel from their base in Kansas City to Mexico City until Friday.

They reportedly felt more comfortable with the security measures in place in Missouri.

DR Congo put a scare into England on Wednesday in the Round of 32, scoring in the seventh minute and leading for most of the match until Harry Kane scored in the 75th and 86th minutes to secure victory in Atlanta.

The winner of the England-Mexico match will face the winner of Brazil-Norway in the quarterfinals on Saturday in Miami.
