You’re hurting today. You’re deeply sad. You’re in a Red Storm-induced fog.

You’re a St. John’s fan who waited 27 years to return to the Sweet 16. You were so close to the Elite Eight, up 10 points on the overall No. 1 seed, ahead with just over four minutes remaining.

This will take a few days to get over, maybe even a few weeks. But embrace this feeling. Cherish it. It’s new. It’s what rooting for a quality program feels like.

Prior to Rick Pitino, March was fun because it came and went without angst. You knew St. John’s wasn’t going anywhere, so you could enjoy the Madness, follow your bracket selections and root for chaos.
