Emmanuel Macron has addressed rumours about his wife Brigitte for the first time.
The French president expressed his anger and frustration about continual speculation about Brigitte Macron and termed it “false and fabricated”.
Macron, 47, was speaking on International Women’s Day on Friday where he addressed the conspiracy theories about his wife, whom he married in 2007, being “born a male”.
He said: “The worst thing is the false information and fabricated scenarios. People eventually believe them and disturb you, even in your intimacy.”
He stated that the transgender accusations concerning his wife were common examples of misogynistic online assaults that women endure daily.
