Emma Raducanu secures huge financial windfall on eve of US Open | Tennis | Sport

Emma Raducanu’s net worth has reportedly spiked ahead of the US Open thanks to a huge financial windfall. The young Brit, who secured Grand Slam glory in New York four years ago, is among the most marketable tennis players on the planet. She boasts a number of lucrative brand deals and continues to be the face of British women’s tennis.

Raducanu also has a business venture, having set up her very own company a year before winning the US Open. She is the sole director of Harbour 6, which channels her earnings from sport and her commercial income. It held just £44 in the bank during its first trading year but is now worth millions, which has been reflected in Raducanu’s growing net worth.

The company netted a £5million profit in 2024, according to The Sun, meaning Raducanu is now worth at least £13.5m. She reportedly banked £100,000 per week from Harbour 6 last year, with the firm holding the vast majority of its assets in cash.

Financial expert Nigel Currie said: “Emma and her management team are clearly very smart. They have capitalised on her amazing US Open victory in 2021, when she was just 18.

“Sponsors are always on the lookout for high-profile female athletes. Looks and physique are also important, while outgoing personalities do well with media engagements and sponsorship contracts.

“[Raducanu] has all of those qualities in abundance. That said, she has so far failed to rediscover the form that took her to her Grand Slam triumph.”

Raducanu could have earned plenty more this week but crashed out of the US Open mixed doubles alongside playing partner Carlos Alcaraz. The pair were beaten by Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula in the first round of the revamped competition.

A top prize of £736,880 was available to the winning duo, with doubles specialists Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori beating Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud in the final.

Raducanu will head into the singles tournament with high hopes of getting through to the latter rounds. She will face a qualifier or lucky loser in her opening match and could go up against Elena Rybakina in round three.

She will be hoping to benefit from her new coaching partnership with Francisco Roig, who previously worked with Rafael Nadal. The veteran Spaniard’s uncle, Toni, recently insisted that Raducanu’s development is in good hands.

“Francis is a very good coach and a man who can help Raducanu to improve technically, he puts a lot of attention on this,” he told BBC Sport.

“In today’s game every player hits the ball very fast, but in the end tennis is about power and control. When you hit the ball fast without a good technique it is difficult to put five or six balls inside the court in a row.

“This is what Francis explains to players. I think he can help Raducanu to become a very good tennis player again.”
