Emma Raducanu was no match for four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka at the Citi Open, with the Brit progressing into the quarter-finals of the tournament with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. It was the first time the two titans of the women’s game had gone head-to-head, with Raducanu dominating the contest throughout.
Speaking on court after the win, Raducanu praised the quality of her opponent, saying: “I felt it was going to be a really difficult match. Naomi’s won four Slams, been world No.1, won the Masters, she’s so dangerous. On hard courts, she’s particularly comfortable. I knew I was gonna have to play really well.”
