A recent survey has uncovered the formula for the ideal holiday, and it’s all about achieving the perfect blend of adventure, exploration, and relaxation. Interestingly, eight out of ten people agree that the perfect trip strikes a balance between excitement and unwinding. But there’s more—a comfortable temperature of 23 degrees with clear blue skies tops the list of must-haves.
The perfect holiday also involves dividing time between quality moments with family, savoring delicious food and drinks, and indulging in new, memorable experiences. For 38% of respondents, they would like to visit multiple locations during their holiday, with three to four different spots being the ideal number.
A third suggested a cruise as the best mode of transport for this, and they’d be willing to travel seven hours to reach their dream destinations. And the type of places most adults would like to visit on a dream trip include tranquil beaches and tropical islands. However, it’s not just about soaking up the sun; adults also listed visiting locations with significant historical landmarks as part of their dream holiday.
However, four in ten Brits surveyed have yet to experience their ‘perfect’ trip. It was found that 55% consider going on the perfect holiday as a life goal, with partners and children being the preferred companions. The survey also revealed that 45% of parents plan their holidays with their children’s needs in mind, stating that if the trip is made easier by the facilities and family-friendly activities available, it automatically becomes a dream holiday.
The study was conducted by Disney Cruise Line in partnership with first-time cruisers Matt and Emma Willis, who embarked on the Disney Fantasy just before its inaugural European summer season. The couple, who have three children, took part in a series of challenges set by celebrity friends including Colleen Rooney and Rob Beckett.
The video shows them being welcomed by ship staff and undertaking tasks such as taking as many selfies as possible and creating Disney towel animals and the duo appeared to be having a great time as they competed against each other in the range of quirky challenges before relaxing in the adults-only areas.
A representative from Disney Cruise Line commented: “We all dream of that perfect holiday a chance to switch off, reconnect, and soak up new experiences. Whether it’s adventure, culture, relaxation or simply spending quality time with loved ones, it’s clear everyone’s idea of the ‘perfect break’ is a little different. But when the magic comes together, it’s unforgettable.”
The Disney Cruise Line Fantasy cruise ship will offer shows and deck parties with its characters as well as offering adult-only spaces. Its spokesperson added: “We believe the perfect holiday really can exist – one that blends relaxation, adventure, entertainment, and quality family time all in one – bringing it all together in one extraordinary experience.”
