An emergency alert has been issued for a woman who disappeared last week in the Bay Area while she was out walking her dog.

Oakland authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating Amy Hillyard, 52, the owner of the well-known Farley’s coffee shops, who has been reported missing since Wednesday and is considered at-risk due to medical conditions.

On Sunday, March 29, the California Highway Patrol issued the emergency alert, asking for assistance in locating Hillyard, SFGate reported. The Downtown Oakland Association also confirmed that Hillyard is the owner of the beloved Farley’s coffee shops, highlighting the concern in the local community.

Witnesses report she was on foot at the time, wearing a tan top and tan pants.

A neighbor told KTVU they saw her walking her dog shortly before she disappeared.

Hundreds gathered on the east side of Oakland’s Lake Merritt Sunday night for candlelight vigil.

Founded in 1989 by Hillyard’s father-in-law Roger Hillyard in San Francisco, Farley’s Coffee has grown into a beloved community hub in the East Bay and at SFO and OAK airports.
