Tiramisu is a dessert with some of the most indulgent flavours: cream, cocoa powder, coffee and sweet sponge.
The authentic recipe is an Italian classic that bakers have replicated many times worldwide. But it’s a time-consuming recipe to follow.
Those craving the delectable flavours of tiramisu can still whip it up from scratch, even if they’re against the clock, says Jonny England, coffee expert at Löfbergs.
He told Express.co.uk: “Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert that typically combines soft sponge cakes dipped in coffee and brandy or liqueur with powdered cocoa and mascarpone cheese.
“If you make the traditional Tiramisu recipe, you could end up having to spend a good couple of hours in the kitchen but with this easy cheats tiramisu recipe, you can have a homemade, delicious, and impressive dessert in less than 20 minutes!”
Jonny says his unique recipe has a simple hack that ensures the richness of the coffee comes through. After all, it is a dessert known for its coffee flavour.
He explained, “The hack is to use fresh coffee rather than instant coffee combined with a liqueur. This adds smooth richness without having to splash out on a bottle of alcohol, and it means you’ll avoid the bitterness of instant coffee in this tasty dessert.”
