Firstly, to support people with energy bill debt and payments, and secondly to help with replacement appliances, such as ovens, fridges, and washing machines. Eligible E.ON gas and/or electricity customers can apply for replacement their items are broken or impaired.

New energy-efficient models can save households money this winter, as well as long-term. Customers of Sainsbury’s Energy can also apply. The E.ON site states: “To get a replacement appliance that’s more energy-efficient, such as a cooker, fridge, fridge-freezer or washing machine if yours has broken down, you’ll need to get in touch with the Energy Fund”.

Those wishing to apply for this scheme must know their E.ON Next or Sainsbury’s Energy account number and prepare for questions on their circumstance. Charis, which manages the E.ON Next Energy Fund, says that eligibility is based on customers’ health status as well their finances.

E.ON will request proof of all benefits claimed by adults within the household. Proof of sickness within the household, which has recieved an official GP diagnosis will also be needed.
