There’s a new way of busting the dust around your home, and it could be the ultimate vacuum. Dyson has just introduced its latest Piston Animal Submarine cordless cleaner, and it comes packed with features that have never been seen on the firm’s popular machines before. This device not only sucks up dirt but can also be transformed into a mop and bucket via its Submarine 2.0 wet roller head.
That means one device will clean all your floors. That Dyson Submarine technology isn’t actually new, but it has been improved to deliver a more targeted and precise water supply when wet cleaning.
Along with that dual functionality, there’s a brand new upgrade called the CleanCompaktor. This lets owners squish all of the dirt that’s collected in the bin with a simple push of a button. This not only helps the container collect more dirt, but it also makes it far less messy to empty.
The next clever feature of the Piston Animal Submarine is its ability to connect to Dyson’s smartphone app.
Through this software, owners can access additional settings and receive real-time maintenance alerts, including when and how to clean the filter.
Of course, this is a vacuum, and it appears that it will be very good at ridding floors of grime and hair. That’s all thanks to Dyson’s Hyperdymium 900W motor, which is 50 percent more power-dense than its predecessor.
There’s also a new dual conical All Floor Cones Sense cleaner head that detangles even the longest hair. The conical shape encourages hair migration from the thicker ends in the middle to the thinner, outer ends, before being sucked up directly into the bin.
Dyson says this accessory intelligently senses changes in floor types and automatically adjusts suction power and brush bar speed, all while LED illumination reveals invisible dust
Changing the tool has also been made easier with a new click system, meaning you can pop one accessory off and connect another with minimal fuss.
There’s also 70 minutes of runtime on a single charge, and the battery can be changed if a longer vacuum is required.
It’s all clever stuff, but it does come at a cost.
The Dyson Piston Animal Submarine DS60 is available from today and is priced at £899.99. If you don’t want the mop you can also buy the standard Dyson Piston Animal DS60 for £749.99
Speaking about the update, Asaph Ooi Head of Floorcare Engineering at Dyson, said: “Today’s homes need cleaning solutions that keep up with busy lives, without compromising on performance. Dyson engineers solve the problems others ignore, and we thrive on the challenge of creating better technology.
“The Dyson Piston Animal DS60 features a new dual conical brush bar cleaner head that detangles even the longest hair. A new motor delivers 315AW of powerful, fade-free suction, while sensors and smart brush technology automatically adapt cleaning performance across floor types. All these technologies combine into a single vacuum, offering a powerful, uninterrupted cleaning experience that adapts to real life messes.”
