Dustin May lasted just one batter Wednesday night.
The Brewers right-hander took an A.J. Ewing line drive off his right shoulder/armpit and left the game after throwing just one pitch.
May initially tried to stay in, but was in obvious pain and, after a few warmup pitches, departed. The Brewers later said he suffered a right scapula contusion and that X-rays came back negative.
The Ewing line drive was hit at 105 mph.
May, acquired from the Cardinals at the trade deadline, entered the game with a 6-8 record and 4.57 ERA for the MLB-best Brewers.
