Homes can feel chilly inside during winter spells of cold weather, but with energy bills rising, many households are trying to cut back on their use of central heating.
In order to stay warm at home, many are investing in alternative solutions, and while electric heaters can still be costly to use, electric blankets are much cheaper to run than central heating, as they’re heating a small area rather than the whole house.
Dunelm’s Cosy & Warm Electric Blanket has been racking up reviews with shoppers, plus it’s got 30% off in a clearance sale right now. In the offer, the single is reduced from £22 to £15.40, the double from £30 to £21 and the kingsize from £34 to £23.80.
The blanket has three heat settings and secures onto the mattress with elastic straps, keeping it in place so it can be used to warm up the bed before going to sleep in the evening.
The electric blanket is a popular choice with Dunelm reviewers, gaining mostly positive feedback. One shopper said: ”A cheaper alternative to central heating. An individual warm and cosy electric blanket throw.”
Another commented: ”Super value. Warm and cosy. Heats up quickly. Stays in place on my double bed. Highly recommend.”
While a third added: ”Thrilled with electric blanket, bed is so cosy, haven’t even put the heating on. 5 stars Dunelm.”
However, some complained about the efficiency of the blanket, saying: ”[I] like the straps which made it easy to fit on mattress. It takes quite a while to warm up, even on the No 3 setting.” [SIC]
